How To Exit Apps On Ps3 With Ps4 Controller

By some miracle, I was able to fix my PS3. Unfortunately, I sold my Dualshock 3 controllers because I assumed my PS3 would be unfixable, pluuuuus I sort of just hate the design of those controllers to begin with (always were so uncomfortable to hold).

Has anyone figured out a way in recent years to exit a game on PS3 without using a Dualshock 3?

Note: Been using Dualshock 4 controller.

Power down the console. That's all I've got.

Do you have a PS4 controller?

If you have a PS3 media remote the PS button on that will function.

Use a PlayStation move?

My son uses my ps3 and uses the hori mini ps4 controller with him only being 5. Uses a move controller for anything requiring the PlayStation button

How did you manage to start a game without a controller? If the answer is by inserting a disk, than my recommendation is ejecting it.

The PS3 supports HDMI-CEC so you should be able to press HOME on your TV remote control which is mapped to the PS button.

mayflash or brook or crunosmax.

Yeah, wired PS4 here, none of the buttons will allow me to go back to the XMB.

Surprisingly enough, my remote is able to work on the PS3 for every function, but the home function lol. Samsung TV and it basically pulls up the apps on my TV.

You should look at getting one of these, then:

I have a mayflash but havent done this yet. Do all the functionalities work and can you start the console with the controller?

I use my Bravia Sync menu, press the Home option.
